Homestead Pet Resort & Spa owner, Loretta Hiatt, wanted to preserve and utilize the 1880s barn that had served the farm for 100 years. Key structural pieces were preserved to be used in a new structure built on the footprint and followed the design of the original barn.
Homestead aspires to create an environment where pet owners have assurance that their loved ones will be well cared for, as if they were staying with their own family. While you are away, your pet will have a great vacation! One of our staff members is on site even after regular business hours so your pets are never left unattended. We have a kennel resident who resides here at night to provide around the clock care. Pets will be crated at night only at the owner’s request. The Homestead facility is state-of-the-art: clean, secure, spacious, and most of all, a healthy environment.
Each and every canine pet will have playtime with other dogs of the same size, age, and temperament, and will have playtime and interaction with the staff. A 3500 square foot extension was added to provide playrooms for our canine guests. We have in-floor heat, pet cots, pillows, and play toys. We let the dogs out at a minimum of every hour. They can play, lounge, go to the bathroom and take naps according to their own schedule. Cats will have their own condo in our cat room that has a separate ventilation system and playtime with the staff. There is a bird watching window to provide hours of interesting activity for our feline guests. For the health of the pet, Homestead would like to keep your pet on the same food and diet that they have at home.
