Thank you for visiting the Homestead Pet Resort & Spa website. Leaving your pet while traveling can be difficult, so it’s important to know we are trained pet lovers and caretakers who ensure a positive experience for your pet and for you.
Reservations:
After you’ve visited Homestead Pet Resort & Spa, or your pet has been here before, make a reservation for your dog or cat and complete the Boarding Contract. Indicate the dates you need and if you would like Valet Service. If you have trouble with sending the form, call 785.872.3200 during normal business hours.
Your reservations will only be confirmed when you hear from us via telephone or email. If you do not receive confirmation with in 48 hours of submitting this form, please call.
Our Facility hours for drop off or pick-up
Although we are on site 24/7 for the pets, our office hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday – 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Our Valet Service:
We pickup and deliver boarders Monday through Friday. We DO NOT operate on Saturday or Sunday.
Valet Service hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Specific pickup or return times will be scheduled by the driver based on the area being served, the number of pets transported and the pet owner.
Required items:
Boarding contract
- Veterinarian signed proof of immunizations; vaccination for rabies and distemper combo and Kennel Cough. We also recommend vaccinating for Lyme, Flea and Tick during warmer months (use a labeled product; over the counter and flea collars are not accepted).
- Necessary medications with written administering instructions.
- Submit your Agreement Application to Homestead Pet Resort & Spa
- Sufficient food for the boarding period with a labeled container.
Optional Items:
- Favorite toy – labeled. Please be aware, that toys can be lost or destroyed. We will do all that we can to assure a toy will be intact when your pet returns home.
- Favorite blanket – labeled.
- Nighttime crate or bed – labeled.
Arrival and Departure:
Whether you bring your dog to Homestead Pet Resort & Spa, or use our Valet Service, we have a few hints and requests to make the process work smoothly.
- Allow plenty of time for drop off and pickup that allows for a non-rushed transfer.
- Fasten your pet’s collar before entering the van so it fits loosely but properly.
- Double check that all items are included, ready and labeled.
- Leash your dog during drop off at Homestead.
- Remind the staff of your pet’s medical or behavioral issues or changes in feeding.
- Although it’s hard to part with your dog, a quick goodbye and pat on the head works much better than a long emotional send off.

NOTE: Before boarding your dog for an extended period, some find it helpful to plan an overnight or short stay. This helps accustom a dog to the facility and staff. It also brings to light any concerns or issues that need to be addressed.
NOTE: New clients seeking holiday boarding – Due to the number of dogs boarded over the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, we would like for your dog to have an overnight stay sometime before the holiday. Although not required, the stay allows us to assess if your dog will be happy with the open playgroups. Available space during holidays fills quickly, so make your reservations early. Reservations to schedule the short assessment stay can be made by telephone (785.872.3200), during office hours. Monday – Friday between 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Evenings and weekends can be arranged by appointment only.
